I was sobered when I learned that nearly 2,400 Americans die of cardiovascular disease each day – an average death of one every 37 seconds, according to the AHA.  Jiffy Lube’s Maintenance Partners for Life campaign emphasizes the importance of maintaining a healthy heart and a healthy vehicle, and is working to raise more than $1 million to help fight heart disease.

For a donation of $3, customers at participating Jiffy Lube service centers across the U.S. can support this cause and receive a Jiffy Lube Maintenance Partners for Life savings book containing heart-healthy recipes, as well as $100 in savings from Jiffy Lube.  100% of the funds will benefit local AHA chapters in the communities in which the funds are raised.

You can also opt to  donate online at www.JiffyLubeGoesRed.com (you’ll need to donate in stores to receive a coupon book, however).  Jiffy Lube has raised $2.3 million for the cause since 2008.

Jiffy Lube has been generous enough to offer three readers a $35 Jiffy Lube gift card and a $100 savings book.

    I started the Go Red for Women Heart Checkup but can’t finish it because I don’t know my blood pressure, hdl, ldl lab results. I guess this is a sign that I’m way overdue for a checkup! I already know the answer – I’m high risk so need to take better care of myself.
