Earlier in the week, I shared a Facebook offer for a free can of Pringles. There has been a lot of confusion over this offer. I’ve been hearing from some people who feel that it was posted illegitimately by someone.
I took the offer down as soon I heard that there was uncertainty about it. However, the research I have been doing to determine whether it was real or not has left me even more confused! Pringles has now stated on their Facebook page that it is real, but I don’t see a link for the offer on their web-site or their Facebook page.
Whether or not it was real, it’s never a bad idea to un-allow a Facebook application after you have signed up for a freebie. Read my post here to find out how to do so.
Hopefully we will all receive a coupon for a free can of Pringles soon and it will clear everything up!

i got my coupon as well…used it at walmart no problems…we tried the bbq one my husband loved them gone over the w-end!!! (they def have a kick to them…hence the extreme part!!) =)
I received my coupon on Friday, in the mail, and used it yesterday.
I got my coupon for pringles extreme flavor Sat. in the mail-not sure if this was the product offer in question, but I got a coupon for a free one!

I have heard back from our company and according to them it is a true offer so you should see your coupons. If for some reason you do not receive them please email me so that I can go back and let my company know.

Right now when you spend $50 in P&G products you can send in a form with your receipts and you will receive over $110.00 in coupons. Also, Swiffer is now out of the box!!! Yes I said out of the box at Walmart.

I went to our pringles site and it does have a facebook page. when you tap on it, it brings you back to free pringles facebook page. They have however ended the free cans due to overwhelming response (this is what it says on facebook). I do know our company does give away a lot of freebies so that people can try out some of our new products. For example, we gave away free tide stain release packets in kroger. So there is a good chance that this is a valid page. We also own bounce and were giving away free t-shirts. Today on the view we gave everyone in the audience a free swiffer wet jet to advertize our new out of the box product at walmart.
Thanks, Sarah. I have a sense that it was a legitimate offer as well. There was quite an uproar over it because there was no direct link on Pringles site or Facebook page for the giveaway. When people tried to get a response from Pringles about this, they never directly responded to people’s questions. So that just left a lot of people fearful that Pringles page had been hacked or something.
Anyway, hopefully we will all get our coupon for free Pringles soon and it will put an end to all the questions!

I am in the same boat. I watched everyone debate and saw what was posted on the Facebook page. I’m still stumped and can’t wait to see if Sarah has an answer.
I have been blogging about freebies and coupons for about a year and a half and have never seen such confusion….LOL makes my head hurt.
That would be awesome if you could get the inside scoop, Sarah! This one has us all confused!
I will look into it. I work for Procter and gamble. I do know that we do have facebook pages and that we do give free products away so that people can try them. But I would have to say that i am pretty sure it is one of our pages.
