How exactly does this work? Do you have to get four boxes of the cereal to use the coupon? I’m confused. I just went to Rite Aid, took two boxes to the register, handed the coupon to the clerk and she said they couldn’t take that coupon because it’s already on sale as BOGO. She said I would have to get two more boxes and then that completely confused me so I just said forget it and left.

Was she wrong or did I need four boxes?

No, you were right, Jennifer. Unfortunately many Rite Aid cashiers don’t know their own coupon policy. You can print a copy of their coupon policy and take it back to the store if you’d like to try again: http://myfrugaladventures.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/Customer-Coupon-Acceptance-Policy-August-10-2.pdf

You can see that it states under ‘Buy One Get One Free’ that you can use a BOGO coupon with a BOGO sale to get both free. In this case since the coupon value is only up to $4.49, you will need to pay $.50 total for both boxes.

If the cashier still gives you a hard time, you could ask her to call corporate.

Sorry this was a hassle for you!
