I received this email a while back from a reader and have been meaning to share it with you all since it just made me smile:
“I’ve been loving Cha-Ching for the past several months and have always told my husband about all the deals etc. that you talk about. I have gotten quite a few of them as well. For the past 2 weeks my husband has been on a CVS frenzy! He reads your CVS deals, sits down with the circular along with our Shop Rite circular and figures out what we need/ best price/best deal. When I tell you he is a bit obsessed now I’m not kidding! He walks around the house at times saying “CVS is our new best friend”. Lol! I cant believe how well we have done at CVS in the past 2 weeks. It will just keep getting better and better. We have always used coupons but now we have tons of them due to research and getting more papers on the weekends. It’s nice that he is equally into it now too. I will admit though, it does feel like he’s stepping on my territory at times but he knows to ask me if he is unsure about something. ”
Thank you again for your awesome blog and realistic approach to saving money. We love it and will continue to follow you.”
How about you? Do you know a man who has recently hopped on the couponing bandwagon? Or even better–are YOU a man that has just hopped on the couponing bandwagon? Leave a comment and tell us about it! I want the world to know that ‘real’ men use coupons too!

Hi, my name is Dan, and I am an Avid Couponer! I have been couponing for months now and I have to say…. I LOVE IT! For the first few months of couponing, I only used them on Heath and Beauty, and cleaning items. But over the past couple of months I have started using coupons on groceries, and I save on average of 70% EVERY time I go! I have created a YouTube channel showing my coupon hauls, and I have a Facebook page called “Real Men Coupon”.
I am happy that I am one of the few men that coupon! I am over 6′ tall, shaved head, tattoos, and I am pretty rough around the edges, but couponing is my passion! Thanks for the post, but remember that Men are out there, and some of us are pretty darn good at it! lol
Thanks

I’ve been using this site for about 5 months religiously and I do all of the grocery shopping. Cha-Ching has been an extremely valuable tool. Between coupons, on sale items & store card savings I regularly save a minimum of $80.00 a trip. My biggest savings ever was $165.00. This site is so easy to use even a husband can do it. I look forward to shopping as the more I save in groceries, the more beer I can buy.

My male friend is a good couponer. He doesnt chase the freebies and read all the blogs like I do. But he clips coupons and does the RR deals at Walgreens and sometimes odes better trips than I do! A male cashier at Walgreens one day was kidding him about coupons saying “You cant use coupons here, men dont use coupons”. They went back and forth about it, joking with each other. It was too cute 🙂

I have been into couponing for a few years now and it has gotten to the point with my husband that I can send him to the store with a list and a stack of coupons & he knows what to do and is pleased when he comes home with a bag full of groceries he only paid a couple bucks for.
The only problem is that when a man goes to a grocery store he gets very distracted by things like Oreos and ice cream and while the things I have sent him for will be a ton of things for $4 or less, he’ll willingly use an additional $4 on 1 container of ice cream which drives me batty! lol!

I use coupons; but they have to be valuable ones…. 🙂
Doritos, spicy Cheezits, Annie Pretzels (jalapeno, mmm), Lowes or Home Depot…

Men Use Coupons Too?!
I, a male, have been doing our family shopping & couponing solo for 31+ years. Last year our total out of pocket for groceries & personal care items (Grocery stores, Wal*Mart, Target, CVS, Walgreens etc.) was $536 for two adults. We do eat out 1 night a week, otherwise the $536 covers all meals. Eating out averaged $16.50 a meal for two incl tax & tip, again by using coupons & restaurant.com…NO fast food meals.
My secrets; well I have always used coupons and tried to take advantage of sales. In the past I had to hunt down ads and try to remember what coupons are out there. In the past few years many websites like Cha*Ching on a Shoestring have popped up where people match up coupons with sales, so it is easy to do.
For non-coupon items (ie:meat) I watch for sales (most stores ads cycle on a 6-8 week basis) and stock up and freeze portion size packages ie: boneless chicken breasts. For other non coupon items (ie: fresh vegetables) we concentrate on what’s in season & on sale.
On Newspaper coupon inserts, they are useful, but there are also so many “printable” coupons out there. I used to cut up the inserts on a weekly basis as they came in, but now I simply place the date on the front with a sharpie and keep them in a pile. Then when a “coupon match up” is noted, I go to the insert of the date specified and cut out the coupon I need.
I enjoy the savings, the “hunt”, and it keeps my wife happy that she never has to worry about any of the shopping!

My husband sometimes takes a photocopy of my receipts and shows his co-workers at the prison he works at. One of them called me up afterwards and asked me to teach him everything I know.
I made a coupon ‘cheat sheet’ full of tips that we had out to friends.

I have taken my husband along on a few shopping trips where I showed him how much coupons saved at check out time. He was really surprised at how the coupons add up to save! Now, even though he doesn’t do all the “work” of clipping coupons and finding deals, he always asks me before he goes to the store if I have any coupons for him to use.
If I have things ready for him to use, he doesn’t mind and I’m proud of him for using coupons!

I am a man that is totally into couponing. To be honest I don’t really understand why this is such a novelty. Stereotpically, Aren’t men the ones that are such penny pinchers? For years I ignored how much my wife was spending on groceries a week (150+), until I lost my job. We had to re-evalute everything to support our family of 5. It was another male – my older brother that introduced me to couponing and I ignored his suggestions for a couple of weeks, but once I read up on it and understood the system I was on fire. My wife loves it because she hated grocery shopping and loves all the deals I come home with. As my business is growing back up,I credit the savings of couponing as a key element to getting back on our feet. I do often get the “your wife must have put all these coupons together for you” statement at check out. I did try to get my wife into couponing but she has no interest – but will do the shopping portion if I get too busy. No matter how we do it couponing has helped out our family greatly. Thanks for the great website.

I have been finding it harder and harder to get out of the house lately, so for the past few weeks my husband has been doing my Rite Aid/CVS shopping for me. I make a list and get the coupons all ready for him then he does the shopping on his way to or from work. He has even found a few deals himself! He is more and more excited every time he comes home with a bag full of stuff he paid $1 for!
