Bottom Dollar Food Stores recently moved into my area and I’ve been wanting to check them out as I’ve heard good things about their prices. So I was pleased when I was offered the opportunity to go on a shopping trip and offer a review.
I was impressed by several things about the store. The first was the cost of produce. Compared to most stores in our area, the costs were significantly lower and who doesn’t love saving money on fruits and veggies?!
Another positive feature is that you can use coupons (although they don’t double) and they do carry brand name foods as opposed to some discount stores that do not. The selection is not quite as great as other grocery stores, but I was still pleased with what I saw.
One item of note is that you will need to bring shopping bags with you (or use empty boxes like I did!). This is just one way they help to lower their costs.
And to top it all off, my cashier was super friendly (even though she had no idea I was writing a review!). I think most couponers agree that there’s nothing worse than a grouchy cashier!
I’m happy to share that Bottom Dollar Food is offering a $5 off $25 coupon here for Cha-Ching on a Shoestring readers that is valid July 18-28, 2011.

I subscribe via email. I checked BD out when it came to my area, but found that I can still get things cheaper at a nearby Wegmans. And I have to agree with an earlier post, the produce prices are good, but the quality doesn’t match up.
But who doesn’t love free food 😉
