I get the backpacks for the kids on clearance from last year’s school supply sales. Then, I load each of them up with freebie and cheapie deals on pens, paper, etc. That way, each kid has their own kit for back to school.

My tip is to reuse as many school supplies as possible and pick up the penny items at the office supply stores throughout the summer. I washed my boys’ backpacks in my washer & air dried them & they look brand new. I picked up 2 different sized backpacks for my daughter at Office Max for $0.01 ea after rewards.

With back to school shopping. I have bought things on clearance from last year, used pampers and huggies rewards to get lunch bags, and have been compiling list and price matching/comparing and using coupons when I can. 🙂

When I’m getting ready to buy school supplies, I get all my ads together with a list of what I need to buy and then make a list of what is cheapest at each store..Walmart, Dollar General, Walgreens, Staples and then make 1 trip to all those stores. We live in a fairly small town so it’s not a problem to run to several different stores…usually saves me around $50 🙂
