*Closed* Summer Grilling Giveaway: $25 Walmart Gift Card

Grilling is one of my absolute favorite summer past-times.

So when Walmart challenged me to create my best BBQ on a budget incorporating Walmart’s new USDA Choice steaks, I was all in.

It was easy to decide which marinade to use.  We have a favorite that simply calls for 3 ingredients (well, 4 if you count the water):

2 Tbsp. Olive Oil
2 Tbsp. Water
1 Tbsp. Red Wine Vinegar
1 Tbsp. Montreal Steak Seasoning

Mix together and marinade with 1 lb. of Walmart USDA steaks for at least half an hour.

Our sides were simple: oven fried zucchini (from our garden) and our favorite summer salad mix: lettuce, strawberries, feta and peanuts.

And yes–it was as delicious as it looks.

Did you know?

  • Walmart selects the best USDA Choice cuts, tender-ages the steak to perfection, and, as we do with all our steaks, makes sure it undergoes rigorous USDA inspections for quality and safety.
  • Walmart is so confident that you’ll love their top quality USDA Choice steaks that they offer a 100% Money Back Satisfaction Guarantee. If you aren’t fully satisfied, just bring back your receipt for your money back.
  • Only 1 in 5 steaks qualify for Walmart’s USDA Choice Premium Beef label.

Want a chance to test Walmart’s USDA Choice Steaks for yourself?

I’m happy to share that one lucky Cha-Ching on a Shoestring reader will win a $25 Walmart Gift Card!

The most useful tip might be “Don’t burn your eyebrows off.” Yes, my husband really did that one year (he opened the charcoal door on the bottom and the flames jumped out at him). So, yeah, try to avoid that if you can.

My favorite grilling tip is to always add an extra piece of chicken or what ever I am grilling to enjoy on a salad or leftover the next day or so. It just tastes so good!

Hmmm…I like to marinate, too so that’s not a new “tip”, so I thought I’d share that sometimes we have corn muffins with our grilled meal. I fill the muffin pans up with batter and put them on the top rack of the bbq over the meat that’s grilling. The best part is I don’t have to heat up the oven in the house!!!
