My savings lesson this week: ALWAYS CHECK YOUR RECEIPTS!

It’s an age old truth, but I was reminded of the importance of checking your receipts this week.  While shopping at Landis, I found an item that I was overcharged for on my receipt.  I brought my receipt to the customer service desk and sure enough, I was right.  They had overcharged me $.89.  The very kind woman reached into the cash register and placed $3 in my hand!  I was unaware of this policy, but at Landis they will pay you $3 if it was their mistake!  (That’s quality customer service!)  So it paid for me to check my receipt–literally!

Savings from coupons and store sales: $117.58

• CVS: Spent $13.13.  Saved $59.94.

• Walmart: Spent $10.65.  Saved $4.68.

• Landis: Spent $24.81.  Saved $38.78.

• Giant: Spent $6.22.  Saved $9.69.

• Rite Aid. Spend $2.49.  Saved $1.  Will receive $3.49 SCR.
  

Savings from ‘Free Money’: $128

• Wes made $3 from a Pinecone Research survey.

• I redeemed my Swag Bucks for $100 Target.com gift card.  I purchased the rest of my good dishes (after almost 8 years of marriage)!

• I redeemed some of my MyPoints for a $25 FTD.com gift card!

TOTAL SAVINGS:$245.58
