Here are the best deals currently available at Wal-Mart, with thanks to Christina from Centsible Savings for her help in compiling these!  She has the scoop on a variety of grocery stores that you may want to check out.

If you are having trouble with your Wal-Mart not accepting printable coupons, you can print out the corporate coupon policy here, which clearly states that they will accept printable coupons. If neither the cashier or manager will accept the printable coupons after you have kindly showed them the policy, you may want to call Wal-Mart’s corporate offices.

Cha-Ching challenge

Welcome to the weekly

Cha-Ching Challenge Highlight!

I am pleased to announce our
Cha-Ching Challenge Highlight Winner.

This week’s highlight is Penny Pinching Diva!

Shynea is a 26 year old stay-at-home mom to four little boys, 7, 6, 1 and a 7 months. (Whew! How she finds the time to create such an adorable site is beyond me!)  She writes:

“I also want to help others out there, who like myself, live on one income and want to stretch their dollars as far as they will go. I love catching sales, finding amazing steals at yardsales, couponing, CVS’ing, frugal cooking and anything else that will make my family look like they’re “living large” on less then $10. I hope that by reading my blog, you will laugh and hopefully find inspiration to “pinch-a-penny” as well.”

Check out her post, sharing how she saved 61% at Walmart last week.  IMPRESSIVE.  Great job, Shynea!

While you are there,  make sure you check out her daily Mommy Seal of Approval Giveaways going on this week!

Would you like to join us in next week’s Cha-Ching Challenge?

Simply come back on Friday and join the Cha-Ching Challenge by adding a link to your post sharing your great deals for the week!

Gone Camping

June 24th, 2009 By Kaley
This post may contain affiliate links, which means I will make a small commission if you click and make a purchase.

We are all packed up and on our way to Creation Northeast.  (Picture Woodstock–only with Christian bands.)

We scored some free tickets because our friends our playing and we are going to help watch their son–who is also best buddies with Griffin.  (Check out their band, The Proxy–they’re awesome!)

So, we will be without all the amenities of life for a few days–including internet connection.  But, have no fear–I have all sorts of fun stuff scheduled out.  You’ll hardly even notice I am gone.

Now that I am all done re-writing my packing list, I remembered a great site that I found on From the Trenches of Motherhood.  It’s called DontForgetYourToothbrush.com and it’s a fantastic resource for all you fans of list-making.  You can create your very own customized lists in advance and they will be e-mailed to you in the time frame that you designate.

The only tricky part is that the site is British–so some of the wording is a bit confusing.  (For example, can anyone tell me what a ‘budgie’ is?!)  But other than that, I have a feeling many of you will love this site.  Do you have any other great tips when it comes to preparing for a trip?

Oh…and by the eay, next time I go camping, will someone remind me about this post?  Thanks.

Giveaway: Bibpron

June 23rd, 2009 By Kaley
This post may contain affiliate links, which means I will make a small commission if you click and make a purchase.

My friend Beckie at  Infarrantly Creative has done it again!  She is offering another one of her adorable creations as a giveaway!

My son Griffin is 3 and is in that awkward stage in between baby-hood and pre-school age where he is too old to wear a bib, but needs something to cover up that belly from the evils of spaghetti sauce, grape juice, and chocolate ice cream.

Enter the Bibpron

Works like a bib.  Looks like an apron.  Big kids love it.

And it’s cuuuute!

(Go here to see how she did it.)

Beckie is celebrating the Grand Opening of her Etsy Store (infarrantlycreative.etsy.com) by giving a Bibpron away right here on Cha-Ching on a Shoestring.  Today, you can win one of your very own custom-made Bibprons handmade by Beckie. Here’s how:

  1. If you haven’t subscribed yet, subscribe to our feed by e-mail or in a reader (see right side bar).
  2. Enter the contest by leaving a comment telling us that you are a subscriber.
  3. If you tweet or blog about this contest, add an additional comment for each to receive extra entries in the contest.

This giveaway ends at 8:00 p.m. EST on Monday, June 29, 2009. We’ll use Random.org to select the winning comment. Winner will be notified by email and listed on this site.
