Cha-Ching! Christmas Club: Seven Days to Christmas Savings

Remember my series “How I Plan to Spend Less than $50 on Christmas” from last year?  As you may recall, I was unsuccessful in sticking to my $50 spending allotment.  (But thanks for being so nice to me in spite of the big let-down!)

However, with a year of planning, saving, and strategizing behind me, I have complete confidence that this year will be different, ladies and gents!

This year will be the year of the $50 Christmas for me!

(Note: Just for the record, my husband’s spending isn’t included in the $50 limit.  Partly because he doesn’t have the same amount of time as I do to shop for deals–and partly because he is shopping for ME!  :))

Many of you decided to join the Cha-Ching! Christmas Club last year by setting aside ‘free money’ throughout the year to offset our Christmas spending.  It’s been fun to read your updates each month sharing how you are slashing your out-of-pocket costs for Christmas.  Together, we are on our way to better Christmas spending!

For those of you who haven’t joined in the fun yet, I’ve decided to make things easier by breaking down the steps of the Cha-Ching! Christmas Club into a 7 day step-by-step process.  Even if you are already taking part in the club, I encourage you to follow along as I will be sharing more specific strategies to make this ‘Club’ work for you.

Keep in mind a few things if you are just joining us:

  • Plan on making a small difference in your Christmas budget this year by joining now, but the biggest difference will be made next Christmas after you’ve taken part for an entire year.  This is a strategy that takes time. Most likely it will only require a few minutes per day, but it’s the savings that build up day by day over the course of a year that make the difference.
  • Please don’t feel like you need to attempt a $50 Christmas.  This is a goal that works for me but will not work for most people.  Much of my success has to do with you, my readers.  I often reap the benefits of those who sign up for various offers that I post.  I have great confidence that you can see a noticeable difference in the amount of money that you spend on Christmas by following the strategies that I share.  But please don’t set yourself up for disappointment.  Set a reasonable goal and if you happen to exceed it, then all the better!

Are you ready to get prepped for saving money on Christmas?  Then come back tomorrow for Day 2 of our Seven Days to Christmas Savings!

I’m trying this program in 2015. I’m a part of many survey sites (such as Swagbucks!) and I never thought about saving ALL YEAR. I always saved up for the smallest amount and got the cheapest thing possible. I’m not going to spend any of my points from any site for all of 2015 and see how much money I have from every one combined by Christmas 2015. I won’t have to spend any of my own money if I do this right!

Hi, Sara! I’m guessing you will need something really unique since Sara is probably already taken. I’m not sure what to recommend though!

Thanks for all you do! I am not setting a limit on spending, but we have always been frugal with our Cmas spending. I was able to save $100 last month to go toward Cmas & hope to save $150 this month. 🙂

I have said it before, but I will say it again, you inspired me last year! Although spending $50 for Christmas would be impossible for me due to family size, I have gotten a great start to my Christmas shopping this year due to my planning and so far I have been able to purchase many gifts at about a 75% savings!

Very excited to do this! Although I have most of my shopping done, I want to learn for next year!

Welcome
