SAVINGS LESSON OF THE WEEK: Sometimes the best way to save money is not to shop!
I was tempted to go out and do a big grocery shopping trip this week, but it was almost the end of the month and I only had about $40 left in my budget. We were blessed by some free fruits and veggies on Tuesday and I decided I would do my best to plan some meals based on what was in the freezer. I made a list of a few items that I would need to get us through the rest of the week and guess what–we survived! And even better–we came in about $15 under budget this month!
Savings from coupons and store sales: $22.04
- Landis: Spent $23.32. Saved $14.07.
- CVS: Spent $.42. Saved $7.97.
- Giant: Spent $3.84 on milk.
Savings from ‘Free Money’: $24
- Got a $9 rebate check from Hasbro.
- Got a $15 rebate check from Olay.
TOTAL SAVINGS:$46.04
TOTAL SAVINGS THIS YEAR: $1742.45
