Hasbro Gift Card Deal Update

Kat left a comment on the Facebook wall that the Hasbro Gift Card deal has ended and tonight Shannon confirmed that she spoke with TRU by phone and they have decided to end the gift card deal early.

I am disappointed and surprised by this since it was posted in their weekly ad, but apparently the ad stated “While supplies last.”

The Hasbro rebate is still valid and so you can still score some very cheap games this week.  But unfortunately the deal is not quite as sweet.

You can always give your local store a call just to be sure, but that’s the word on the street!

I went last night to the one in Knoxville, TN and they were still doing it. They still had alot of the sale items. I purchased seven different games and since a couple were the “Cootie brand” the $10 card did not come up at the register (they said they had trouble with that one giving the $10 card)… but they just took $10 off of my total for me! After my $14 in rebates… I will have spent $11 dollars on 7 games. $1.57 each game!!!!! Yay for cheap Christmas presents!

I did the deal Wednesday, but the gift card wasn’t popping up in the registers, but they ended up giving me $10 in credit on my two transactions. However, it was on the sale price, not the retail price.
I’m wondering which it was supposed to be. Because I had tried at a different store (they were out of chocolate games) and it also did not come up on the retail price of the games so I changed my mind that day. Maybe their computer systems were fudged and it SHOULD have been on the retail?
Oh well, got some games for donation and Christmas for a lot less than I regular price!

Yes, I went yesterday and they were out of the chocolate games (they said they were out the first day and they only received 12!) And so I was going to check out anyway and get the gift card + rebates. Before paying, I asked about the gift card and she said she heard management talking the day before about not doing it anymore. 🙁 So I put up several games and just got a few that were good rebate deals. So sad I missed it!
