Borders has announced that all Borders stores will be closing their doors. Their Going-out-of-Business sale starts today and they will honor Borders Bucks through 7/31.
This makes me sad. I will be heading over to our local store sometime this next week to check out the sale. Plus my son finished up his reading for the Borders Double Dog Dare You Program. I’m hoping they will still honor it!
Thanks, SwagGrabber!

I always liked Borders, but I’m a bit upset. I earned $20 of Borders Bucks that aren’t valid until 8/1 and I got an email that they are only honoring Borders Bucks through 7/31 (so mine cannot be used)! Also, I upgraded our membership ($20) just two weeks ago! Being a one income family whose special splurge is books, this is upsetting b/c I feel like we wasted money. 🙁

Thanks for the heads up Kaley. That is so sad for all the little kids out there who might not understand why they don’t get the free book they worked for. I hope your son was okay, I know how much it can suck for kiddos when things don’t turn out right sometimes. I’ll make sure to call before going into our local zoo. 😉

My daughter just finished her’s too. That would totally suck if they don’t honor them, she has been so excited to get a free book. She’s a big book nerd like me. 🙂 *crossing my fingers*

I stopped by my local Borders tonight and it was a zoo. Once I was finally able to track down someone to talk to, I was told they no longer have the reward books. It was pretty disappointing, but I know it’s not his fault. This might vary from store to store, so you might want to call to find out if this is the case for you. If it wasn’t so busy, I would have looked for a cheap kid’s book for my son. I just didn’t have time.
