I tried to use the $3.00 off and the $2/2 coupons to purchase two packs of the markers. The markers were 3.99 x2 minus the $8.00 in coupons. Because the markers cost less than the coupons the associate said the register would not accept all the coupns. I even tried to purchase a pack of gum to see if it would work but it did not. How can I get this deal to work?

Hi, Joni,
Walgreens actually covers this issues in their coupon policy here: “In the event that any item’s selling price is less than the value of the coupon, Walgreens will only accept the coupon in exchange for the selling price of the item.”
In other words, they need to lower the value of the coupon in order to make it work.
I recommend going back to the store with a printed copy of their coupon policy and trying again. It may mean that you need to speak with a manager or even have them call corporate, but they need to follow their own coupon policy.
You can print it here: http://www.walgreens.com/topic/help/generalhelp/coupon_policy_main.jsp?erule=couponpolicy
Hope that helps!
