One of my goals this year is to post a Saving on a Shoestring update on the first day of every month. So, although I just posted an update last week, I am going to be a girl of my word and post a new update today!
And may I just say that saving money is FUN?! Sometimes it feels like the end will never come, but then one day you turn a corner and see that all this saving and scrimping is beginning to add up! (Of course, there are days when I’d rather just blow all that saved money on a trip to the Bahamas. Just sayin’.)
Here are my latest numbers. Remember that you can download your own copy of the Cha-Ching Christmas Club Savings Tracker (click on ‘File’ and then ‘Download’) and then make it all your own.
Project Cruise 2012: We are up to 32%.
Mission Mini Van: We are at 72%.
Cha-Ching! Christmas Club: I am at 9%.

I stocked up on the 75% & 90% off after-Christmas sales, so I’ve got a good head-start for birthday and Christmas gifts. I also like to enter instant-win games and in the last 3 weeks, I’ve won 2 $25 gifts and over $500 Barbie products. I’m set on girl gifts for awhile. 🙂
My savings has been since September 2010. I’ve spent $310.19 and saved $1274.01 on groceries, toiletries, etc!! That’s 80%. I’m trying to spend less money on groceries & toiletries and try to put more toward my mortgage =)
I don’t have an actual goal in mind for my Christmas savings, since this is my first attempt at it and I really have no idea what to expect. However, I am currently at $43 saved through the rebates and surveys that I have received so far and I’m still waiting for some come in. I’m happy with my progress so far! 🙂
