I missed sharing my savings from last week so now it’s time to get caught up!  I am working through an insane amount of receipts today due to the crazy good catalina deals at Giant and Landis the past couple weeks.  While I spent more than usual over the past two weeks, we are stocked up on cereal and snacks for MONTHS now, so we should easily see the savings in our budget over time.  I also have $36.50 in catalinas to spend–woo hoo!

Savings from coupons and store sales: $302.38

• Spent $162.24.  Saved $289.69.  Will receive $12.69 in rebates.

Savings from ‘Free Money’: $92

• Wes received a $3 payment from Pinecone.
• Received a rebate for $12.00.
• Received a check from ShopatHome for $77.  Woot!

Savings from cutting costs: $50

• While we were unable to plant our own garden this year, the amount of produce that has been pouring into our house from friends and neighbors has made me feel like we did!  We’ve been eating tomatoes like they’re going out of style this week–can I get an amen?!

TOTAL SAVINGS:$444.38

TOTAL SAVINGS THIS YEAR: $4022.09

I actually scored some incredible deals this week.  BUT today we are celebrating my son’s birthday who turns 5 tomorrow.  {Insert sentimental gushy mom sigh here.}  And since we will be in the midst of moving at the end of August, we are celebrating my other’s son’s second birthday as well.  {He turns 2 on August 29.  Insert another aforementioned sigh here.}

So since we are in the midst of some partying today, I am going to take a break from sharing my deals. Plus I’m going to be knee-deep today creating this Pirate Cake.  Let’s hope it’s a masterpiece, unlike last year’s!

• Spent $47.29.  Saved $39.86.  Will receive a rebate for $3.29 for the Kellogg’s Corn Flakes.

Savings from ‘Free Money’: $303.28

• It was a big week for savings from Free Money!  We cashed in some of my Swag Bucks for Amazon gift cards and were able to score a Garmin GPS.  Plus we scored $200 in Lowe’s Gift Cards through our credit card rewards program.  (We are hoping to use them toward purchases for our new home soon!)

• I received a rebate check for $3.28.

TOTAL SAVINGS:$346.43

TOTAL SAVINGS THIS YEAR: $3414.49

• Redeemed a $15 iTunes gift card with my Swag Bucks.
• One of my freebies that came in the mail this week was an entire box of Nature Valley Granola Thins!  Saved $2.50.

Savings from cutting costs: $403

• Visited the library this week and got the boys a movie to watch and books to read.  Saved $3.
• Have I mentioned Freecycle?  My husband is an avid Freecycler.  In the past few months, he has saved us hundreds of dollars by scoring items such as gardening tools, winter coats, clothes for the boys, a guitar for Griffin, an armoire (!) and more that I can’t think of right now.  (I will have him write a post for us about the art of Freecycling–it is truly an art!)  Saved $400.

TOTAL SAVINGS:$512.64

TOTAL SAVINGS THIS YEAR: $3068.06
