It’s been a while since I’ve shared about MyPoints, one of my favorite methods of earning free stuff like restaurant and shopping gift cards.
I’ve been a MyPoints member for years and currently have enough points to redeem several hundred dollars worth of gift certificates (I’ve been saving up for a while). Earn points by reading e-mails, signing up for offers, and shopping through their site. Then redeem the points for gift cards from their extensive list of merchants.
Right now MyPoints is offering 100 FREE points just for signing up.
I just redeemed some of my points for a $50 Target gift card, which I plan on using to score some cute little outfits for our baby boy!

I just signed up they did not give 100 points and a gift card of $50 cost 7000 points so 100 points really not much help! Even if they did give it to you! This seems like a major waste of time vs dollar invested.

It’s not for everyone, Janet. Feel free to unsubscribe if you aren’t interested. I like it because it only takes a minute or two per day to click through emails or take surveys and over time it adds up.
You can read more about it here: https://chachingonashoestring.com/how-we-save-money/mypoints/
I’m not sure why you didn’t receive the free 100 points. If you decide to stick with the program, definitely contact MyPoints and let them know.

I am curious how you earn so many points to have enough to get hundreds of dollars in gift certificates. I cash in periodically, but in any given year I probably don’t even get $100 worth of gift certificates. What am I missing?

I’ve been a member for about 6 years or so, and I’m more of a saver than a spender. You’re not missing anything…sounds like you’re right on track. 🙂
