I am so happy to announce that The Merry Little Living Project is ready to begin! I’ll be sending out my first email newsletter tomorrow, so be sure to enter your email address here if you want in! I can’t wait to start finding and celebrating Simple, Joyful Life with you all.
I’ve been dreaming about and planning what this series will include and here are a few things I hope to focus on:
-Time-saving tips for everything from cooking to cleaning and more.
-Simple organizational tips.
-Simple decor ideas.
-Goal setting. (I’m hoping our community can encourage each other with this!)
-Reviews of my favorite things that save me time and money.
-Simple ways to celebrate life, give joy to others and make festive occasions even more special.
And here are a few things you should NOT expect from The Merry Little Living Project:
-Perfection. I am about as imperfect as they come, so let’s just nix that expectation right off the bat, shall we?
-Inauthenticity. I’m going to do my best to keep it real and share my successes and failure with you – and I hope you feel free to do the same!
-Anything too complex or overwhelming. We’re about simplicity around here!
And now I want to know! What are YOU hoping to simplify in your life (laundry, gift giving, meal planning, chores, cleaning)? In what ways would you like to find more joy (giving, celebrating special occasions, chores, cleaning:)) ? I want The Merry Little Living Project to be about YOU and our community. We’ve already proven that our community is awesome at helping each other, so in what ways are you hoping this series will help you?
By the way, you can learn more about The Merry Little Living Project here.

i can’t wait for goal setting! One thing I hope to learn about is how to find my joy. My family is definitely my joy, but what else?
Kaley says
I think that’s a GREAT question to ask, Kim! Thanks for sharing.

Very excited for this series! I have a 12 & 10 year old and getting ready to have our third baby in a couple weeks. Lots of new challenges on the horizon so I’m looking forward to everyone’s simplifying ideas for life!:)
Kaley says
Congrats on baby #3, Telena! I hope that our community can be an encouragement to you – and I hope to see pics too. 🙂

I want to simplify my house! Get rid of excess belongings and minimize things.
Kaley says
I’m right there with you, Julie! Thanks for sharing.

And thank YOU for being excited about it, Julia!

I’m trying to simplify cleaning. My sister has started a “just one thing” project – every day, no matter how tired or overwhelmed or out of sorts she feels, she does “just one thing” to clean or declutter her home. Often one thing leads to two or three, and now she feels like she’s finally getting the upper hand on the cleaning, and feels better about herself in the process. We encourage each other with our “one things.” It’s catching!
Kaley says
I like the idea of helping each other set goals like that, Laurel. Thanks!
Stacey says
Looking forward to it! I’d love quick, easy tips for making life extra-ordinary… for my husband, kids, friend, neighbor, etc. Life can feel so busy and monotonous- a little suggestion that leads to 5-15 min of “outside of the box” time would be awesome!
Kaley says
Love the idea, Stacey. Thanks for commenting!
Mara says
I’m so excited for this, Kaley! All subjects I’d like to learn more about!
Kaley says
And I’m excited that you are excited, Mara. 🙂

I’m excited to see this series take off! I don’t even know how to simplify right now. I have a lot on my plate. I’m looking forward to the ideas you and everyone else has to offer 🙂
Kaley says
You are exactly the kind of person that I hope this series will benefit and encourage, Janice. Someone with a lot on her plate who needs some support and encouragement during this busy season of life. Thanks so much for sharing!

During the Merry Little Christmas Project, you included several things with a Christ-focused theme. I’d like to see that in this project as well. I have zippo ideas to give as examples, but bear with me while I explain some things I’ve been mulling lately. First, I was sick and didn’t get to attend the IF:Gathering of women this weekend; however, I did enroll in an IF sponsored Bible study. The books came yesterday (Restless by Jennie Allen), and skimming through mine challenged me to find God’s purpose for this stage of my life (old, retired, companion to elderlly mother, wife, sad empty-nester). I had been thinking about hosting a lunch for my widow I know; now, I’m going to stop thinking and start doing. I’d love to hear from other gals who are finding ways to reach out in their communities (especially ideas for a Widows’ Lunch or Tea ;-)–things that help us to continue in the vein of “Random Acts of Kindness,” just maybe a little more focused and less random 😉 Thank you! I love this idea of yours and so appreciate following what you’re doing. Now, I have a closet to organize 😉

Love this idea. Thanks for commenting, Deb!

Chore planning for kids. Mine are 10, 8, 5 and almost 2. Would love to get the oldest 3 on some kind of good schedule that they’ll be involved with and (eventually) willing to do without my nagging.
Kaley says
Yes! The topic of chores would be a fantastic thing to cover. Thanks for commenting, Kat!

I’m so excited about this! I am really focusing on simplifying my household in order to create a more relaxed atmosphere. We are a family of 5 living in a fairly small duplex and can use all of the extra space we can find/create. I would like some guidelines others use to decide what/how much to keep/get rid of.
Kaley says
Really great idea, Jennifer. Thanks so much for sharing!
