Well, after my CVS Fail yesterday, I headed back to the store all armed with my coupons. I was ready to score some amazing deals – until I checked the shelves and realized the items I wanted were completely sold out. So I gathered myself together and headed to another CVS only to face the same demise.
But it’s all good! I have a stack of rain checks to take advantage of next week AND I was still able to score everything in the picture for just $0.33. I’m excited to give those super cute Valentines to my super cute boys. 🙂
Here’s my deal scenario:
Buy (3) M&M’s Singles – $1.19 each (Buy 2 Get One FREE)
Buy (4) Hallmark Cards, $0.99 ea.
Use (1) B2G1 Mars Coupon
Use $1.50/3 Hallmark CVS coupon that printed at the Coupon Machine
Use $3 in ECB’s from last week
$0.33 after coupons!
Have you scored any great deals this week?

I’ve had a cvs card for years, does that mean I have ECBs to use? I can’t check my rewards online because I lost my card, I always give them my phone #. And, do you tell them you want to use your ECBs? Or they do if automatically?
Kaley says
Hi, Mali! You should earn ECB’s quarterly based on how much you have spent. You can get them when you scan your card at the red coupon printer at the front of the store. You can also earn them when you buy certain qualifying items which are advertised each week. They will print at the end of your receipt and you can use them on your next purchase. You can learn more here: https://chachingonashoestring.com/the-drug-store-game/cvs-101/ Hope that helps!

This is why I have a love/hate relationship with CVS. Often I go to get something that is on sale and find they are out….and they have put same brand/not on sale items on the shelf where the sale items belong. I try to buy cosmetics when there is a special on certain brands and find that even being there the day before when they are hanging the sale notices,
there is little to choose from as if the sale is a way the manufacturer uses to unload unpopular shades, etc.

I hear ya, Marty. That really is frustrating. I learned today that the truck comes to my CVS on Fridays, so I will likely try to go then from now on. But don’t forget about those rain checks too!

I don’t get how this was .33??
I count $1.19 for the M&Ms (2 were free after store deal & coupon) and $2.46 for the cards (4@ .99=$3.96 less $1.50 coupon) for a total of $3.65. Am I missing another coupon?

Oops! I forgot the $3 in ECB’s I used. I will update. Thanks!
