Cha-Ching challenge

Welcome to the weekly Cha-Ching Challenge!

Did you find a HOT deal this week that you just want to share?  You’ve come to the right place!  Every week I post the Cha-Ching Challenge, sharing my savings for the week.    Add a link to your post detailing your savings for the week OR your favorite deal of the week. I’ll choose one participating blog to highlight next week right here on Cha-Ching on a Shoestring.

Add your links to Mr. Linky at any time.  In order to be considered for the Cha-Ching Challenge Highlight, just be sure to add your link no later than Tuesday at midnight EST.

Check out my savings for the week below:

Savings from coupons and store sales: $143.80

  • Rite Aid: I did this moneymaking deal at Rite Aid, plus I got most of the free after rebate items.  Saved $80.89.
  • Target:I didn’t get a chance to post about my savings at Target last week.  I got all of these free items and a few more great deals.  Saved $40.58.
  • Giant: Saved$20.33.
  • Walgreens: Did this gum deal at Walgreens. Saved $2.

Savings from ‘Free Money’: $15.00

  • Over the past few weeks, I have received some sort of freebie in the mail almost every single day.  Whether it be a free cereal sample, a lip gloss sample, a free magazine subscription, or a free Playtex sample, over time these things begin to make a dent in our budget.  Not to mention, going to my mailbox is a highlight of my day!  (By the way, you can check out my latest freebies posts here.)

Savings from cutting costs: $500

  • Our four year old, Griffin is so ready for school.  But when we made the move to Pennsylvania, we left  behind free pre-school in New York.  We weren’t quite ready to jump into a school bill, so we opted to try out some good ol’ home schoolin’.   I’m having some fun returning to my teaching roots and watching Griffin learn exciting new things.  I think that’s what you call priceless.

TOTAL SAVINGS:$658.80

TOTAL SAVINGS THIS YEAR: $3956.44
