So Many Thanks Printable Harvest Card

It’s the season of giving thanks, and this provides an opportunity for us to remember those who have blessed us.

So, how about this printable harvest card  to write a note letting someone you love know how thankful you are for him or her? I got a huge deal on Michaels note cards and envelopes, so I printed a bunch. I have a lot of wonderful people in my life!

And then, to make it more fun, print out this confetti, cut it, and slip a handful into the envelope.

Harvest Notecard Confetti

Such a lovely way to say Thank You during the Thanksgiving season.

Harvest Notecards 4

Wishing you blessings galore during this harvest season.

Pic Joy Tag Box

Free Joy Printable and Gift Wrap Idea

Here’s another idea for wrapping around a box then removing the box leaving a nifty stand-alone gift bag – and I made free Joy printable tag to top it off!

For Idea #6, I used scrapbooking paper that I got at Michaels for 17 cents a sheet and a tall box I pulled out of my kitchen cupboard.

First, I wrapped the black polka-dotted paper tightly around the box and adhered it with double-sided adhesive.(Do not adhere it to the box.) Then, I cut a strip of the red dotted paper and wrapped that tightly around the black paper. Next, I wrapped some shiny red curling ribbon around the package a few times. The final touch was to slip in my Joy printable tag, then attach it with a black clothes pin. (Anything will do: adhesive, paperclip, brad, yarn.)

The final step is to pull the box out of your lovely gift bag and slip in a sheet of Christmasy tissue paper.

And there you have it: too, too fun wrapping idea #6.

Pic Happy Holidays Wrap 5

Happy Holidays Free Printable plus Wrapping Idea

The secret to this gift bag is a box of macaroni!

–I wrapped the full box of macaroni (to provide firmness so it’s easier to wrap paper tightly around it) with black construction paper like I was wrapping a present, leaving the top part open.

–I found the lovely black and white lettering Happy Holidays printable. When I printed it, I increased the percentage of the size of the printable so that it filled a sheet of  copy paper. I then adhered it around the box, wrapped some fun yarn around it and tied it in a wispy bow.

–The last step was to remove the box of macaroni and slip in a sheet of tissue paper.

Classy, indeed!

And there you have it: too, too fun wrapping idea #5.

The Dollar Store Diva: No-Sew Harvest Bags with Give Thanks Tags

No Sew Harvest Bags and Give Thanks Printable

I was enraptured by these bags as soon as I saw the picture and tutorial here. Who couldn’t love the the mix and match of fall cotton fabrics with ripped fabric bows to help celebrate the season of giving thanks?

But, what really caught my eye were the words: EASY NO SEW. The truth is that I have a love-hate relationship with my garage-sale sewing machine.

I made my harvest goody bags using three contrasting fabrics and the fusible tape suggested; but then I got the courage to pull out my dusty sewing machine. It was super-easy either way.

Happy Fall Y'all1

Isn’t that as cute as can be?

Finally, I created these Happy Fall Y’all Tags or Give Thanks Printable Tags to attach for a warm greeting.

Give Thanks Goody Bag Tags

I have put Hershey Kisses in some, and in others I put a wrapped mixture of candy corn and honey roasted peanuts. (Find the Dollar Store Diva dee-licious recipe here.)

A bit of brainstorming should give you ideas of ways you can use these Happy Fall or Give Thanks bags to bring harvest blessings to others. I have used them as hostess gifts, place cards, and little treats for friends. I keep a basket of them on my counter. A batch was also sent to my far-away Kansas family to put on their Thanksgiving dinner plates–a happy reminder that Grandpa and Grandma love them.

So, there you have it.

Happy Fall, y’all!

The Dollar Store Diva: Thanksgiving Countdown Printable

Pic Countdown to Thanksgiving

Last fall I created a dry erase Countdown to Thanksgiving in 8×10 size here.

I decided this year that I would like to use a 5×7 frame that would fit better on my end table.

I set the printer for 5×7 to print this free printable: here

Supply list:

–Black or brown 5×7 frame (I got mine at the Dollar Tree)

–Paper for the countdown printable and for matting (I used scrapbooking paper: a lighter harvest pattern to print on, a solid dark brown for matting the print, and then another pattern for the final mat.)

–Scissors or trimmer

–Adhesive

–Dry erase marker for marking the numbers on the glass

And that’s it.

Print the countdown printable, trim the paper for the three sizes, adhere, slip it into the frame and, as you count down the days, enjoy the richness of the blessed season of thanksgiving.

PicMonkey Vintage House GreetingsPicture A

Another cereal box pre-wrapping idea.

These are my simple steps:

–I cut the lid off the top of the cereal box and put a couple of books inside to make the box firm while I wrapped it

–Just like I was wrapping a gift, I wrapped the box with shiny Dollar Tree wrapping paper and tucked the excess paper into the open top, taping it inside the box.

— Next I printed the lovely winter scene scene (source) on white card stock and trimmed it, leaving a white frame around the picture

–With a pencil, I free-handed a wavy line from one side of the picture to the other and then cut across that line.

–I adhered the two pieces to the box separately, leaving a slight space between them with the red paper showing through.

–Finally, I took the books out of the box and used four brads–one in each corner–to add a final touch. I didn’t have black brads so I painted them with black nail polish 🙂

But wait! There’s more!

Vintage House Greetings2Picture B

Did you wonder why I left the space between the top and bottom portions of the print?

Look at Picture A, and then look at Picture B. What do you see different?

Yup! A handy-dandy slot to place a To/From gift tag with a slip of twine to pull it out!

And there you have it: too, too fun wrapping idea #4.
