Wrapping Idea #13

Wrapping with fabric has been one of my favorite too, too fun wrapping projects. This box was wrapped like swaddling a baby in a blanket. I used torn strips of random Christmas fabric to wrap around the blanketed gift, leaving a pocket to slip in a Christmas card.

DSD Scarf Wrapping

I wrapped this gift with a silk scarf. You can check out this video with a brief tutorial on how easy it is to create this lovely holiday gift wrap with built-in pocket for a card.

DSD Scarf Wrapping Lincoln

OR– instead of a card, how about slipping in a picture the recipient will treasure? That’s two gifts in one!

And there you have it: too, too fun wrapping idea #13.

Pic Christmas Font Tags

What excitement there was in the air when I discovered this free Christmas font!

I quickly downloaded the font onto my computer, then I typed abcdefg… (both uppercase and lowercase) to find the images I wanted for my  tags.  I used Word shapes (rectangles) to create tags and inserted the chosen images using a text box.  I then increased the size of the font until it fit just right in the tag.

Examples:

DSD Christmas Alphabet

And there you have it.

Just think of all the mix and match options for shapes, colors, sizes,  etc.

Have fun!

DSD Music paper red ripped 1

I wrapped this box with music scrapbook paper that I got at Michaels for 17 cents a sheet.

Then the ripping-fabric-fun began. Don’t you like the frayed-edges look?

DSD Kraft Black Ripped

I wrapped this next gift in Dollar Tree kraft paper. For the ribbon, I ripped strips of  black Christmas fabric.

DSD Black ripped tag

The printable gift tag (here ) added a lovely final touch.

And there you have it: too, too fun wrapping idea #11.

Pic JOY Bags

I featured these cute-as-anything bags in my recent harvest bags post which included a link for a tutorial.

These can be favors with one fabulous Christmas cookie inside or a handful of lovely melt-in-your-mouth chocolate. I am also using them as wrapping for gift cards surrounded by Hershey Kisses.

Away in a Manger Bag Source:  Nativity  Sheet Music

I suddenly realized that my pre-decorating ideas all involved small boxes or bags. Hmmm…what about those larger gifts that won’t fit into pre-wrapped cereal boxes???

Aha! A grocery bag will work just fine and dandy, thank you very much.

I take cloth totes when I grocery shop, so Wegmans will give me a few grocery bags–print-free and beautifully flat and unwrinkled–if I ask for them.

For Wrapping Idea#9 I used:

This printable: Away in A Manger

Black and red paper for matting the print

Adhesive

Hole punch for ribbon

Ripped Christmas fabric to slip through the punched holes and then tie into a bow

And there you have it: too, too fun wrapping idea #9.

 Bless Us Everyone

When I saw this gift-wrap idea, I immediately determined to try it myself. And what fun I had.

In fact, I had so much fun that I decided to have even more.

So, I created this:

DSD Joy Bird

Since I can only draw smiley faces and clouds, my husband sketched the tree branches for me. But I added the drops of red paint for the berries and then the snow flakes using a white Sakura Pen-touch pen.

The font for the two cards is Jane Austen which can be downloaded for free here.

The lovely winter birds printable can also be used for tags and little paper ornaments.

And there you have it: too, too fun wrapping idea #8.
